About Me

Hi. My name is Nick Elorreaga

I am a HCPC registered Physiotherapist currently working in outpatient musculoskeletal practice in the NHS.

have a life long personal experience of chronic pain and living in a body with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. As such, I have a special interest clinically in working with patients struggling with chronic pain, and patients struggling with hypermoblity related problems (especially where the two overlap).

It is an unfortunate reality that the healthcare system isn't built to effectively address the complex needs of individuals with clinical hypermobility and chronic pain. I have been not only a recipient and a witness to this as from the patient side, but also frustratingly enough through my experience as a provider. I have experienced how limitations of the wider healthcare system can prevent even the most motivated and well meaning of phyios from being able to do as much as they would otherwise with more time and resources.

While I do my best with every patient that steps into my clinic room, I often feel disappointed that I am not able to do more for those with the more complex and less widely understood needs that I am best equipped to meet given my own personal experience in conjunction with my professional expertise.

For many years this website was a blog for fitness content that I maintained back when I worked as a personal trainer, I am now aiming to transition this site to focus around physiotherapy and education on management for chronic pain and hypermobility. I want to create an online resource for anyone trying to learn how to manage these conditions, be they my patients or total strangers.

Additionally, while I do not currently have the capacity or the apparatus to start taking on private clients, I hope this website will act as a landing page for my private practice work when this materialises at some point in the future.

Welcome to the site and I hope you find it useful!
